About this deal

The crimes are hard ones to crack and there will be quite a few false leads before all is resolved in this well plotted thriller. But where the FL is unsure of herself and romance with the ML bc of her very physical, very violent assault trauma the ML is holding himself bc of his high sex drive. Lottie thinks he's found someone younger so that puts her in a continually bad mood, sniping and snarling at everyone.

There is a careful balance in Patricia Gibney’s narrative between the suspects and the police perspective, and her family life.Broken Souls and the DI Lottie Parker series will appeal to crime fiction and thriller enthusiasts alike. And I found her kids incredibly frustrating as well when they should have been drawn together, particularly after the last case. A great storyline with all the usual twists and turns we expect from Patricia's writing but a few red herrings in there. Soon Fiona Heffernan’s broken body is discovered pushed from the roof of the hospital where she worked. And if Carson Ryder and his partner had known what they were getting into, they would never have taken the case.

Over this series, readers have come to know Lottie, her children, Boyd and even Lottie's unlikable boss.Finance is provided by PayPal Credit (a trading name of PayPal UK Ltd, Whittaker House, Whittaker Avenue, Richmond-Upon-Thames, Surrey, United Kingdom, TW9 1EH). Lottie is a safe bet between her existential crisis, her family drama and her passion for her profession, she always grabs me and leaves me wanting more. After the bombshell delivered at the end of this book, I can hardly wait to see what happens for Lottie next!

Love it even more now, on re-watches things that didn't quite make sense at first are clearer and things that were not noticed or appreciated before are and much admired. And I understand that bc that’s what the book is telling me but I’m not FEELING it in the way the book describes it. Often with 'Foyle's War' it has been easy to pick out standouts, with no disrespect intended for any casts that for a vast majority of episodes are uniformly strong, not so here. It would have been a great start if not for my new next-door neighbor, who slightly resembles a Yeti. This book should have been a redemption for Lottie, and instead, she crossed the line to "unbearable character. Mesmerizing album that breathes joy and lushness of the wilderness, excellent choice for lovers instrumental music.

Luckily, Lottie's family is not involved with the investigation this time but her staff keeps her on her toes. Have always admired the visual detail that went into 'Foyle's War' and how high quality the production values are, with beautiful costumes, the evocative way the characters are made up, the look of the houses and cars, pretty locations and authentic-looking scenery. It was poignantly written and didn’t shy away from the hard and tough moments a survivor of any kind of assault goes through each day. When only hours later, yet another young woman dressed in a wedding gown is found dead, Lottie knows she is dealing with murder. Surrounded by lakes, Mullingar is damp and wet most of the year but when the sun shines it is a little piece of heaven on earth. By all accounts it appeared to be a suicide, particularly as she had recently been jilted by her fiance local pub owner Steve O'Carroll.
