Prepare to get your game on with the new Speed Duel GX: Duel Academy Box! Just like the popular Speed Duel: Battle City Box, it is designed to allow up to 8 players to jump into their own dynamic tournament experience and includes a static pool of around 200 cards to construct various popular strategies from, most of which are brand new to Speed Duel! Here are just a few of the things you can look forward to in the new box: Most of the characters in Duelists of Shadows are pulled from Season 1 of Yu‑Gi‑Oh! And finally, Yubel fans get another Skill Card with Dark Creation: once per Duel in your Main Phase, if you have 5 or more DARK monsters in your Graveyard with different names and you control no monsters, you can banish a DARK monster from your GY to revive a DARK monster of your choosing. There’s no shortage of good DARK monsters in Speed Duel, but if you need some more options, the Duelists of Shadows extras include Zure, Knight of Dark World, Brron, Mad King of Dark World and more. Cards Too Strong for Sealed To use a card in Speed Duel it must have the Speed Duel Symbol on the card. Cards without the Symbol are not legal, but Speed Duel cards can be used in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Skill Cards may only be used in Speed Duel. Supreme King Jaden’s main Skill Card is Ruthless Means: once per Duel during your Main Phase, when you control an Evil HERO, you can discard a card to make one of your opponent’s monsters lose ATK equal to its own DEF, or lose DEF equal to its ATK. It’s the perfect way to punish big monsters and surprise your opponent by stealing the win. And it’s especially good with Evil Hero Dark Gaia or Evil Hero Inferno Wing, since they both have effects that can make your opponent more vulnerable to damage. Moving on, Shadow Rider Abidos the Third’s Skill Card is Ancient Ruler Rises, which is all about Spirit of the Pharaoh. It’s a monster with 2500 ATK and an effect that can Special Summon Level 2 Zombies from your Graveyard, but to play it, you have to control the Trap Card The First Sarcophagus, as well as the Spell Cards The Second Sarcophagus and The Third Sarcophagus. You need to send all 3 from the field to the Graveyard to Special Summon Spirit of the Pharaoh.
